The Mountain Ridge Miners will be playing at home against the Clear Spring Blazers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Wednesday, things could have been worse for Mountain Ridge, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-48 loss to Fort Hill. Mountain Ridge has struggled against Fort Hill recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Owen McGeady, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Cameron Breighner was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Clear Spring's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 15th straight loss. They took a serious blow against Brunswick, falling 72-31.
Mountain Ridge's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-8. As for Clear Spring, their loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-19.
Everything went Mountain Ridge's way against Clear Spring in their previous meeting last Wednesday as Mountain Ridge made off with a 67-46 win. Will Mountain Ridge repeat their success, or does Clear Spring have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
