Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Royal Falcons, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were dealt a 57-7 loss at the hands of Hamshire-Fannett on Friday. Royal was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-7.
It was another big night for Chris Augustine, who rushed for 267 yards and five touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also picked up 32 receiving yards. Augustine really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Bryson, who threw for 164 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81% of his passes.
Royal now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Hamshire-Fannett, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-1.
Royal does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hamshire-Fannett will take on Cuero at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cuero is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
