Mukwonago hasn't had much luck against Muskego recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m.
Mukwonago is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They came up short against Kettle Moraine, falling 12-5.
Mukwonago saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Kremin, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Brenna Borkowski was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Muskego). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Catholic Memorial a 22-0 shutout on Monday. The win was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Reese Heinrich was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-5. That's the most runs she has posted over her last ten games. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Brunner, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and two runs.
Muskego lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Muskego pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Mukwonago, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mukwonago hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .363. However, it's not like Muskego struggles in that department as they've averaged .321. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mukwonago couldn't quite get it done against Muskego in their previous meeting back in April as they fell 4-0. Will the Indians have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
