After three games on the road, Timberline is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Central Kitsap Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Timberline knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Central Kitsap likes a good challenge.
Timberline pushed their score all the way to 56 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 67-56 to O'Dea. While losing is never fun, Timberline can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while O'Dea is ranked 33rd).
Despite the defeat, Timberline got a solid performance out of Kenyon Simmons, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. Simmons scored a full 32.1% of Timberline's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Josh Tichenor was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Central Kitsap, who are still winless after their sixth game. They took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of River Ridge on Friday. That's two games in a row now that Central Kitsap has lost by exactly 12 points.
Timberline now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Central Kitsap, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-6.
Everything came up roses for Timberline against Central Kitsap when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 97-44 victory. Does Timberline have another victory up their sleeve, or will Central Kitsap turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
