Lincoln (Tallahassee, Fla.) had a big 20-point second quarter on Saturday, sealing a 39-3 victory over Rickards (Tallahassee, Fla.).
The Trojans scored on a
Cameron Joseph touchdown pass to
Myles Gaines, a touchdown pass by Joseph to
Taj Williams and a touchdown run by
Ben Robinson in the quarter.
The lead that Lincoln took on a
Kendall Randolph touchdown pass to
Jeff Williams with 8:00 to go in the first quarter stood up for the duration of the game, as neither team managed to score in the second half.
Joseph stood out for LHS in the win. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.
The Raiders' Vosean Crumbie played well. The junior kicked one field goal. His performance brought his touchdown total to one on the year.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Trojans came away with a 52-14 victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for Rickards, which notched a 46-26 victory over Florida State University in its previous outing. With the win Lincoln extended its winning streak to four games.
In a 7A District 1 game next week Lincoln (4-0) takes on Buchholz, and Rickards (2-2) will go up against Wakulla in a 5A District 2 game.
