Pikesville has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Catonsville Comets at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Catonsville took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Pikesville, who comes in off a win.
On Saturday, the stars were shining brightly for Pikesville in a 63-47 victory over Western.
Pikesville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bree Taylor out in front who scored 19 points along with three steals. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for her. Darielle Weems was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Catonsville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 44-19 walloping at the hands of Mount de Sales Academy. Catonsville was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-3.
Pikesville's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.36 points. As for Catonsville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Everything came up roses for Pikesville against Catonsville in their previous meeting back in February as the team secured a 62-19 victory. Will Pikesville repeat their success, or does Catonsville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
