Madison Academy has gone a perfect 10-0 against Brindlee Mountain recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mustangs will take on the Lions at 12:00 p.m. Madison Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Madison Academy will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Danville on Monday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 15-2 win. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by seven runs or more this season.

Cataryna Schreiber and Adelaine Pressley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Schreiber pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Pressley pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Schreiber has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 25 consecutive appearances. At bat, Schreiber fired off four doubles and four RBI while going 5-for-6, while Pressley went 4-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those five hits gave Schreiber a new career-high.
In other batting news, Memphis Houston was a standout: she got on base in all six of her plate appearances with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 16 games. Evie Stephenson was another key player, going 4-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Madison Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 25 hits. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Brindlee Mountain faced off against Pennington on Friday. The Lions fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 8-7. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Brindlee Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Madison Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 18-10-1.
Madison Academy got the 'W' when the teams last played on April 9th against Brindlee Mountain by a conclusive 21-0 score. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
