St. Mary's is 3-0 against Chatham Hall since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. St. Mary's will be playing at home against the Chatham Hall Turtles at 5:45 p.m. St. Mary's has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Tuesday, St. Mary's didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Riverside-Durham, but they still walked away with a 37-32 victory. The victory was just what St. Mary's needed coming off of a 69-23 defeat in their prior game.
Mary Marshall Rankin and Helen Newcomb were among the main playmakers for St. Mary's as the former scored 10 points and the latter scored 10 points. Rankin continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emmy Johnson, who scored 6 points.
Meanwhile, Chatham Hall suffered a tough 36-16 defeat at the hands of Timberlake Christian on Monday. Chatham Hall has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
St. Mary's pushed their record up to 2-4 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.7 points per game. As for Chatham Hall, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Everything came up roses for St. Mary's against Chatham Hall in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 60-25 victory. Does St. Mary's have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chatham Hall turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
