The Mendon Unity Mustangs had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past West Prairie with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 67-49. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Mendon Unity also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2022.
Despite the defeat, West Prairie saw an underclassman step up: Braden Coplan scored 21 points. Coplan scored a full 42.9% of West Prairie's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Whitman, who scored ten points.
Mendon Unity pushed their record up to 8-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for West Prairie, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Coincidentally, Mendon Unity and West Prairie will both be playing Horizon Science Academy-Southwest the next time they take the court. Mendon Unity will host Horizon Science Academy-Southwest at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while West Prairie will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
