Baseball Recap: Port Allen Has No Trouble Against Southern Lab

Port Allen never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Southern Lab on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Southern Lab Kittens with a sharp 16-2 win. The Pelicans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by nine runs or more this season.

Jack Dickinson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those stolen bases marked the first that he's stolen this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Cline, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

Port Allen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southern Lab only posted an OBP of .421.

Port Allen's record now sits at 4-2. As for Southern Lab, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Port Allen will host White Castle at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Port Allen's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so White Castle's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Southern Lab, they will head out on the road to face off against Catholic of Pointe Coupee at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
