The Andrean Fighting 59ers will challenge the Knox Redskins at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Andrean knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Knox likes a good challenge.
Andrean is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. Everything went their way against Hebron as they made off with an 11-5 win. The Fighting 59ers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.
Sadie Drousias spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

| 05/26/25 vs Boone Grove | 2 |
At the plate, Maggie Voliva was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Maddy McCoy was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Andrean hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday Knox sidestepped Jimtown for a 4-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redskins.
Knox also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Bethany Barnes gave up just two earned runs on eight hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ava Jensen, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cheryl Barnes, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.
Andrean is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Knox, their record now sits at 14-15.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Andrean hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .399. However, it's not like Knox struggles in that department as they've averaged .312. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Andrean took their victory against Knox in their previous matchup back in May of 2015 by a conclusive 12-0 score. Will the Fighting 59ers repeat their success, or do the Redskins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
