The Franklin Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 66-19 defeat at the hands of Kenwood. Franklin lost against Kenwood in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 29-19 score last time.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kenwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Diamond Watters, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Watters has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times she's played. Mackenzie Green was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Kenwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin will square off against Overlea at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Overlea is coming into the match with seven straight losses at home, meaning Franklin will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Kenwood, they will head out on the road to face off against North Harford at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
