The Richfield Wildcats will face off against the South Sevier Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Richfield has given up an average of 9.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
If Richfield beats South Sevier with 21 runs on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Wildcats put the hurt on Delta with a sharp 21-14 win on Thursday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 3, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Macie Barton was incredible, firing off two home runs, five runs, and two stolen bases while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jerzy Moon, who scored four runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-5.
Richfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, South Sevier entered their tilt with Beaver on Tuesday with 12 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 13. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Beavers. The game was the first time the Rams have beaten the Beavers on their field since April 22, 2015.
Kloe Donohue made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run.
Donohue wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Navey Lindsay, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. Kinsey Parsons was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.
South Sevier pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Richfield, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Richfield has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. However, it's not like South Sevier struggles in that department as they've averaged .486. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Richfield suffered a grim 17-11 defeat to South Sevier in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
