Twin Valley recap September 17, 2013
Onaga took down Immaculata 69-28 last week, the largest margin of any game. David Koelzer ran for 142 yards during the win.
Troy made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,205 from 11,314. The advance stemmed from a 44-7 victory over Maur Hill Prep-Mount Academy last week.
Logan Woodyard was the best receiver in Twin Valley this week as Valley Heights fell to St. Marys.
Koelzer provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Buffaloes defeated the Raiders.
Cole Maddox was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Mustangs fell to the Bears. The 6-foot-0 senior forced 2 fumbles and recorded 2 fumbles.
Koelzer was the best running back in the league this week. Teammate Michael Bliss added to the ground attack by rushing for 138 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Washington County's Konner Penning and Cole Thompson have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Penning has thrown for 163 yards this season, while Thompson has 3 catches for 73 yards. Bliss from Onaga leads the league in rushing with 315 yards.
At the moment, the Tigers are in third, while Centralia/Wetmore is in second.
There should be lots of points scored when Valley Heights and Mike Wilhelm's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Tony Trimble's team comes in having scored 43 this season, while the Buffaloes have scored 89. The Mustangs scored 13 points last week as they lost to St. Marys.
