Lucas Fisher was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
At the plate, Brody Frank led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played dating back to last season. Isaac Norman was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Potomac School). Everything went their way against Calhoun Academy on Wednesday as Potomac School made off with a 15-2 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Gavin Speigel spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits.
On the hitting side, Will Piester was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Pence, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.
Potomac School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Potomac School's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Trinity Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
