Eastern  took care of business in their home opener  on Saturday (barely). They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Alexander Spartans  and snuck past  10-8. For Eastern, this counts as revenge for the   9-8 defeat Alexander walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in May of 2022.
 The team  relied heavily on  Caleb Abner, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Alex Collins, who  scored a  run while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastern will take on Fisher Catholic at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Alexander, they will look to defend their home field  on Monday against Federal Hocking at 5:00  p.m.
