The AGBU Titans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 53-43 to Pilibos. While losing is never fun, AGBU can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 646th, while Pilibos is ranked 135th).
It was another big night for Antranik Balian, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds for Pilibos. Balian is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Eric Honanian, who scored 13 points.
AGBU has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. As for Pilibos, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-7.
AGBU will be playing in front of their home fans against Mesrobian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mesrobian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully AGBU likes a good challenge. As for Pilibos, they will head out on the road to face off against Flintridge Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Flintridge Prep will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
