After a string of three wins, the Lassiter Trojans's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 53-29 defeat at the hands of Pope. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lassiter has scored all season.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aidyn Davis, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Emmanuelli, who scored seven points.
Lassiter's loss dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Pope, they pushed their record up to 19-4 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lassiter on the road again on Tuesday and play against Johns Creek at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Johns Creek will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 239th, while Lassiter is ranked 38th). As for Pope, they will head out on the road to challenge Roswell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
