In what's become a running theme this season, the Mt. Vernon Rams gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They claimed a resounding 80-40 victory over Cairo on the road. Winning may never get old, but Mt. Vernon sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Mt. Vernon was led to victory by Melaina Zedalis and Tiara Johnson. Zedalis scored 16 points, while Johnson scored 24 points. Johnson hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Kylie Poole was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Mt. Vernon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Cairo, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.
Mt. Vernon will square off against Carterville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cairo won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Varsity Opponent on January 16th.
