Wayne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 10-6 to the Hoover Huskies. One positive for the Pioneers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Fisher Fry made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jacob Thompson also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Wayne's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hoover, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wayne will welcome Tug Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hoover, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Ripley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
