Faith Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 52-8 win over Lawrence Academy. With the Patriots ahead 46-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Faith Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaac Suber, who picked up 110 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 36 yards and one touchdown. Suber was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 69 yards. Blayde Hinton was another key passer, throwing for 216 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Faith Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 293 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lawrence Academy only rushed for 21.
Meanwhile, Arendell Parrott Academy faced John Paul II Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Friday. The Patriots narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Saints 26-23.
Faith Christian better keep an eye on Sylas Rouse. He was instrumental in Arendell Parrott Academy's win, rushing for 93 yards and three scores, while also picking up 43 receiving yards. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Rouse a new career-high.
Faith Christian's record now sits at 8-3. As for Arendell Parrott Academy, their record is now 11-0.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Faith Christian has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 211.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Arendell Parrott Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 180.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
