The Louisa County Lions will face off against the Freeman Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Louisa County will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Louisa County is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Albemarle 20-1 on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Regan McCavanagh made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other pitching news, Lily Ruckle looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single walk any time she's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Louisa County got a massive performance out of Lauren Goodman, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That stolen base was Goodman's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Maya Akrum, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Louisa County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, Freeman got themselves on the board against J.R. Tucker on Friday, but J.R. Tucker never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 12-0 victory. The Mavericks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.
Caroline Baird made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Baird was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Kayleigh Perks was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Ryleigh Perks was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.
Louisa County's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Freeman, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.
