The Western Plains Bobcats lost against the Heartland Christian Crusaders back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Western Plains fell just short of Heartland Christian by a score of 48-46.
Western Plains lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaelyn Spangler, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Spangler has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Kraus, who scored 19 points along with two steals.
Western Plains' defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Heartland Christian, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Western Plains will square off against Dighton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Western Plains is facing Dighton at the right time seeing as Dighton is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Heartland Christian, they will be playing at home against Non Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
