1A Special District 5 (8 Man) recap November 19, 2013
Mapleton was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after a bye. The Sailors came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.
Lowell added to the longest winning streak in 1A Special District 5 (8 Man) this week by beating St. Paul, 60-22. The victory was the 11th in a row for the team.
Mapleton's Tucker Ford and Justin Schaaf led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Ford has thrown for 1,893 yards this season, while Schaaf has 35 catches for 885 yards. Yoncalla's Geoff Payne leads the league in rushing yards with 2,533.
Triangle Lake made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 117 from 219. The improvement was the result of a 40-30 victory over Dufur last week.
