Brooke Bowers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Sydney Schlachter made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Witek, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
St. Ursula Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Wauseon, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Wauseon's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's matchup. The Indians have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for St. Ursula Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Wauseon continue to outrun the ball?
