North Canyon is 1-7 against Paradise Valley since September of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The North Canyon Rattlers will be playing at home against the Paradise Valley Trojans at 7:00 p.m. North Canyon has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 25.
Last Friday, North Canyon didn't have quite enough to beat Cibola and fell 15-12.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Adrian Montgomery, who rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, everything went Paradise Valley's way against West Point on Friday as Paradise Valley made off with a 34-8 victory. The victory was just what Paradise Valley needed coming off of a 42-14 loss in their prior matchup.
Charlie LeVinus was the offensive standout of the contest as he threw for 369 yards and four touchdowns while completing 71.1% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Elantae Fleming, who picked up 154 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
North Canyon's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-1 Kellis and 8-1 Central (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.9% over those games). As for Paradise Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.
North Canyon came up short against Paradise Valley in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 28-24. Thankfully for North Canyon, Jaiden Mcdaniel (who rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
