The North Platte Panthers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on Milan with a sharp 54-34 win on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but North Platte sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
Colton Kirkham was on fire: he rushed for 207 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 160 yards and a touchdown on only ten passes. Another player making a difference was Liam Servaes, who rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.
North Platte's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Milan, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-2.
North Platte will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Marionville at 3:00 p.m. on December 1st. Marionville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Milan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
