Eastern View and Caroline are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Cyclones will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Eastern View 0.8, Caroline 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Eastern View took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Courtland a 3-0 shutout. The three-run effort marked the Cyclones' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Cailin Rendell made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season.
In other batting news, Kierstyn Harris was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sara Hopper, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Caroline came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 13-0 win. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by nine runs or more this season.
Caroline got a massive performance out of Alyssa Bray, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Ava Anderson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Caroline pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Eastern View, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Eastern View has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .497. However, it's not like Caroline struggles in that department as they've averaged .577. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Eastern View's way against Caroline in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Eastern View made off with a 10-0 win. Will the Cyclones repeat their success, or do the Cavaliers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
