Basketball Recap: Aundrea Dennett Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Skyline

There's no place like home for East, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They managed a 52-46 win over the Skyline Eagles on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Leopards: when they faced off against the Eagles back in January, they had to take a 42-37 loss.

East got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aundrea Dennett out in front who posted 21 points. The dominant performance gave Dennett a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jaylah Dulin, who had 14 points along with five assists and three steals.

East was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Skyline lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Norah Pearce, who scored eight points and three blocks. Eve Sanders was another key player, putting up four points and 13 rebounds.

The win snapped East's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-14 record. As for Skyline, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing West the next time they take the court. East will host West at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Skyline will head out to face them at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
