The Skaneateles Lakers will play host again and welcome the Cortland Purple Tigers, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Skaneateles lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Friday was a bit more commanding. They were dealt a 73-31 defeat at the hands of Marcellus. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Skaneateles has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Cortland's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight defeat. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 69-44 walloping at the hands of Mexico. Cortland was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-18.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Quinn Woodard, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Caden Albright, who scored 11 points.
Skaneateles' defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Cortland, their loss was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-15.
Skaneateles came up short against Cortland when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 63-56. Thankfully for Skaneateles, Ben Mcgrath (who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
