The biggest upset of the week belonged to Dolores, who took down 133rd ranked Del Norte, 13-12.
Monte Vista took down Ignacio 60-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Hansel Garcia ran for 156 yards in the win.
The Pirates' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Michael Sanchez threw for 80 and one touchdown and Daniel Borunda had 40 yards receiving. Jeff Cooper helped Monte Vista's passing attack out by catching one ball for 38 yards.
On the ground, Monte Vista's Shadron Wenta has rushed for 651 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Cooper. The Monte Vista star has seven catches for 238 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Greg Jones's team takes on the Tigers. As it stands, the Pirates are in first, while Del Norte is in third.
There should be lots of points scored when Monte Vista and the Tigers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Pirates comes in having scored 188 this season, while Del Norte has scored 157. Monte Vista scored 60 points last week as it bested the Bobcats.
