Basketball Recap: Model Secondary School for the Deaf Comes Up Short

After flying high against Washington Latin Public Charter School on Friday, Model Secondary School for the Deaf came back down to earth. The Model Secondary School for the Deaf Eagles had to suffer through a 55-22 loss at the hands of the School Without Walls Penguins. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' District of Columbia basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Penguins are ranked third).

Mattea King and Starla Baskin certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. King posted six points and 13 rebounds, while Baskin put up three points.

Model Secondary School for the Deaf's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for School Without Walls, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Model Secondary School for the Deaf didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-30 win against Burke on the 9th. As for School Without Walls, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 46-0 victory against MacArthur on the 9th.
