It was a good run, but the Sartell-St. Stephen Sabres unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 61-49 to Willmar. Sartell-St. Stephen was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Willmar apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Despite the loss, Sartell-St. Stephen had strong showings from Brenna Mcclure, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and five steals, and Kaia Gack, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was Gack's seventh in a row with at least ten points.
Sartell-St. Stephen's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-2. As for Willmar, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.
Sartell-St. Stephen will be home for the holidays to greet Buffalo at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Willmar, they will head out on the road to face off against Fridley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fridley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
