The Bellefontaine Chieftains's game last Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They managed a 64-59 win over Graham Local. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Bellefontaine's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Quinlan Zedeker, who scored 22 points along with six assists. Another player making a difference was Tiffany Boop, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Graham Local's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Audrey Larmee, who scored 11 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Larmee has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cora McWhinney, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Graham Local smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bellefontaine only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
The victory got Bellefontaine back to even at 8-8. As for Graham Local, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
Bellefontaine will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Tecumseh at 1:30 p.m. As for Graham Local, they will head out on the road to challenge Shawnee at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Shawnee is out to stop a eight-game streak of losses at home.
