The Berthold Bombers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by Westhope/Newburg on the road and fell 79-24. Berthold was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-13.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westhope/Newburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braden Bailey, who scored 22 points along with five steals. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Walker Braaten, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds.
Berthold's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Westhope/Newburg, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Berthold will be playing in front of their home fans against Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westhope/Newburg, they will head out on the road to face off against Bottineau at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
