The Sequoyah Chiefs waltzed into their game Wednesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They put the hurt on Harrison with a sharp 75-49 victory. Considering Sequoyah has won four games by more than 25 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Sequoyah was led to victory by Addison Ghorley and Milanni Abdus-salaam. Ghorley scored 17 points along with five rebounds and five steals, while Abdus-salaam scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Ghorley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carly Bass, who scored ten points along with five assists and three steals.
Sequoyah's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Harrison, their loss dropped their record down to 10-2.
Sequoyah and Corbin will round out the year against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Corbin knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Sequoyah likes a good challenge. Harrison will be home for the holidays to greet Woodstock at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodstock will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Harrison is ranked 33rd).
