Christopher Cooper of
Beaumont is this week's MaxPreps California High School Football Player of the
Week. Cooper received more than 57 percent of the total voting.
The senior quarterback was 13 of 17 for 201 yards and six touchdowns in a 56-12 win over Redlands East Valley (Redlands). Cooper has thrown for 2,434 yards this season on 159 of 228 passing and 25 touchdowns against five interceptions for the 7-1 Cougars. He's also rushed for 280 yards on 51 carries with five additional scores.

Chico: Senior running back ran for 256 yards and five touchdowns on 12 carries in a 35-0 win over rival Pleasant Valley (Chico).

Ishmael Gibbs,
Chaminade (West Hills): Junior wide receiver/defensive back had two interception returns for scores, including a 92-yard pick-six, in a 35-28 win over Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks).

Sawyer Hokanson,
University Prep (Redding): Senior quarterback was 9 of 11 for 270 yards and five touchdowns while only playing the first half in a 48-0 win over Anderson.

Max Ibarra,
Roybal (Los Angeles): Senior quarterback was 18 of 25 passing for 307 yards and six touchdowns in a 71-36 loss to Bernstein (Hollywood).

Tyus Miller,
Clovis East (Clovis): Junior quarterback threw for 441 yards and six touchdowns on 18 of 35 passing and added 100 yards rushing and another score in a 58-55 loss to Central (Fresno).

Jayden Tinker,
Union Mine (El Dorado): Senior ran for 282 yards and four touchdowns of 40 yards or longer while making a key interception that locked up a 28-14 win over Rosemont (Sacramento).

Herschel Turner Jr.,
Mt. Diablo (Concord): Senior ran for 324 yards and four touchdowns in a 49-47 loss to Alhambra (Martinez).
