The Shroder Paideia Academy Jaguars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took down DePaul Cristo Rey 85-68. The win was just what Shroder Paideia Academy needed coming off of a 69-47 defeat in their prior matchup.
DePaul Cristo Rey's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Issa Koita, who scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Koita has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Collins, who scored 15 points.
Shroder Paideia Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for DePaul Cristo Rey, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shroder Paideia Academy will challenge School for Creative Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. School for Creative Performing Arts is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for DePaul Cristo Rey, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against North College Hill at 7:00 p.m. on January 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (North College Hill is ranked 799th, while DePaul Cristo Rey is ranked 783rd).
