Noble Street College Prep can attribute much of their success to Tiffany Gaona, who posted eight points and ten boards, and Sarai Gonzalez, who put up eight points and four steals. Gaona has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Heidy Flores was another key player, putting up four points.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Pritzker on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Muchin College Prep out of the water with a 38-11 final score. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 22 points or more this season.
Noble Street College Prep better focus on containing Kalyne Rodriguez and Dailiany Azcona as the pair were huge in Pritzker's win. Rodriguez dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards, while Azcona scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Pritzker smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive contests.
Noble Street College Prep's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 17.8 points per game. As for Pritzker, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Noble Street College Prep has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 34.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Pritzker struggles in that department as they've been averaging 34.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Noble Street College Prep came up short against Pritzker in their previous meeting back in November of 2021, falling 23-11. Can Noble Street College Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
