After flying high against Academy Charter back in November of 2023, the St. Dominic Bayhawks came back down to earth. St. Dominic fell to St. Anthony 56-50. St. Dominic has not had much luck with St. Anthony's recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
St. Anthony's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Connor Mannix led the charge by scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mannix has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicolas Vieux, who scored nine points along with three steals.
St. Dominic's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for St. Anthony's, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.
St. Dominic will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Anthony's at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. As for St. Anthony's, they will be playing at home against Chaminade at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chaminade presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than St. Anthony's in New York (Chaminade is ranked 81st, while St. Anthony's is ranked 221st).
