The McQueen Lancers were the 36-27 winner over the Carson Senators when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. McQueen took a 51-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carson on Friday. McQueen has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, McQueen had strong showings from Caitlin Hilson, who scored nine points along with 18 rebounds and four steals, and Audrey Baumgardner, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Carson was led to victory by Kiele Franco and Lauren Finnerty. Franco scored 11 points, while Finnerty scored 16 points along with six rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Franco has scored all season. Makayla Rabideau was another key contributor, scoring three points along with four steals.
McQueen has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Carson, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12.
McQueen will take on Reed at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Reed is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Carson, they will head out on the road to square off against Spanish Springs at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Spanish Springs presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Carson in Nevada (Spanish Springs is ranked 16th, while Carson is ranked 60th).
