The Wyatt Chaparrals will challenge the Richland Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Richland will be up against a hot Wyatt squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Chaparrals took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 68-35 victory over South Hills. The Chaparrals pushed the score to 54-22 by the end of the third, a deficit the Scorpions had no chance of recovering from.

Kentrell Steward had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 290 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 100 yards on only nine carries. Those 290 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Allen Bayne was in the mix too, providing Wyatt with two TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wyatt was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 242 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 164 rushing yards in eight consecutive games.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Wyatt, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Malikhi Mingo, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, after only ten points in their last matchup, Richland made sure to put some points up on the board against Azle on Friday. The Royals blew past the Hornets, posting a 59-14 win. With the Royals ahead 45-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Richland's win came from a few key players Wyatt will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jayshon Gibson, who rushed for 201 yards and four scores on only 14 carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 72-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Brett Kates, who threw for 274 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Richland's defense and their three sacks. Leading the way was Jesaiah Kneubuhl with two.
Wyatt's record is now 8-2. As for Richland, their record now sits at 7-3.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Wyatt has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 288.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Richland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 256.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
