Pope John Paul II is 9-1 against Upper Merion Area since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. Pope John Paul II will be playing at home against Upper Merion Area  at 4:00  p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Pope John Paul II will bounce into Monday's   matchup after  beating Owen J. Roberts, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Pope John Paul II came out on top in a nail-biter against Owen J. Roberts on Friday, sneaking past  5-3. Surprisingly, this marked Pope John Paul II's fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

 Tyler Timdall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Blaise Desanto, who  went 1-for-2 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI.
Meanwhile, Upper Merion Area hadn't done well against Phoenixville recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Thursday. The Vikings won by a  run and slipped past the Phantoms  2-1.
Upper Merion Area also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in:  Nathan Gordon gave up only one earned run on two hits.
 At the plate, Upper Merion Area's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Henry Destefano, who  went 1-for-3 with one  RBI.
 Pope John Paul II pushed their record up to 9-2 with the  win, which was their third straight  on the road. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Upper Merion Area, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
Upper Merion Area's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Pope John Paul II hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .395. It's a different story for Upper Merion Area, though, as  they've  only  averaged .252. Will they be able to contain Pope John Paul II's hitters?
 Pope John Paul II took their  victory against Upper Merion Area  in their previous matchup  back in March by a conclusive  15-7 score. Does  Pope John Paul II have another victory up their sleeve, or will Upper Merion Area turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
