The Sacramento Dragons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Vista del Lago 88-49 at home. The victory was familiar territory for Sacramento who now have five in a row.
Sacramento was led to victory by Kendahl Hearne and Sir Marius Jones. Hearne scored 27 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Jones scored 30 points along with six assists and six rebounds. The matchup was Jones' tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Shobal Barksdale, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Despite the loss, Vista del Lago still got an impressive performance from Owen Pettus, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. Dominic Rostami was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Even though they lost, Vista del Lago were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sacramento only racked up 22 assists.
Sacramento is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Vista del Lago, they bumped their record down to 7-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sacramento will face off against Christian Brothers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vista del Lago is on the road again on Friday and play against Oakmont at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th.
