Basketball Recap: Community Christian Takes a Loss

Community Christian was the 56-54 winner over Cincinnati Landmark when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Community Christian Eagles took a 47-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cincinnati Landmark Eagles on Saturday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Community Christian came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 203rd in Indiana, while Cincinnati Landmark is ranked 558th in Ohio).

Despite the loss, Community Christian still got an impressive performance from Brody Back, who went 9 of 13 en route to 22 points along with five boards and three blocks. Back is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Luke Fagan, who posted seven points and seven steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Community Christian and nudges their season record down to 8-5. As for Cincinnati Landmark, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Community Christian will square off against Suburban Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Community Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.3 points per game this season. As for Cincinnati Landmark, they will challenge Spencer Center at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
