They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets, sneaking past  52-50. Winning may never get old, but the Fighting Blue Jays sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Leading St. Edmund to victory were  Wyatt Dubois and  Nathan Driggs.  Dubois rushed for 53 yards and five  TDs, while  Driggs rushed for 134 yards and a pair of  touchdowns.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: St. Edmund was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 245  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 189  rushing yards in seven consecutive  contests.
 Catholic of Pointe Coupee's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Jude Morrison, who rushed for 68 yards and three  scores, and also threw for 259 yards and a pair of  TDs while completing 72% of his passes. Another player making a difference was  Myka Nippl, who rushed for 123 yards and a pair of  touchdowns on only ten carries.
St. Edmund's record is now 7-1. As for Catholic of Pointe Coupee,  with the  defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Edmund will square off against Bolton Academy at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Fighting Blue Jays will be up against the Bears' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.5  points per  game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Catholic of Pointe Coupee, they will face off against Sacred Heart at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Trojans' defense has only allowed 11.6  points per game  this season, so the Hornets' offense will have their work cut out for them.
