The Hendersonville Bearcats fell victim to the Brevard Blue Devils''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were the victim of a rough 24-0 loss at the hands of the Blue Devils. Having soared to a lofty 41 points in the game before, Hendersonville couldn't push the score so high this time.
Brevard found their leader in underclassman Benjamin Kessinger, who threw for 134 yards and three touchdowns. Dillon Galloway also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Hendersonville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Brevard, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hendersonville will take on Patton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Patton is hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses. As for Brevard, they will be playing at home against Polk County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Polk County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 268th, while Brevard is ranked 105th).
