The Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators lost against the Granby Comets last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Greenbrier Christian Academy ended up on the wrong side of a rough 50-28 walloping at the hands of Granby. While losing is never fun, Greenbrier Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Granby is ranked 59th).
Loss or not, Greenbrier Christian Academy got some senior leadership from Wyatt Hill who scored 11 points and Jonathan Ashe who scored eight points along with three steals. Ashe scored a full 28.6% of Greenbrier Christian Academy's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Greenbrier Christian Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Greenbrier Christian Academy now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Granby, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenbrier Christian Academy will challenge Summit Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Summit Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Thursday. Granby will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Norview at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th.
