The Salmon Savages's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They really took it to Leadore for the full four quarters, racking up a 73-44 win on the road. With Salmon ahead 40-19 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Taylor Ayers, who scored 18 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. The match was Ayers' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dane Piippo, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds.
Salmon now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Leadore, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salmon will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Watersprings at 7:00 p.m. on December 18th. As for Leadore, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Ririe at 6:30 p.m. on December 15th.
