Seffner Christian got a great performance from Tyler Tate as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over 4.1 innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Tate a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Brayden Nanns was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. He has become a key player for Seffner Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Bryce Nanns also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Seffner Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Tampa Prep entered their tilt with Sports Leadership & Management on Monday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Spartans 11-4. The Terrapins not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 14th.
The team relied heavily on Will Futch, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Derek Stiglich, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Tampa Prep pushed their record up to 12-10 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Seffner Christian, their record is now 11-8.
Tampa Prep's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Seffner Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. It's a different story for Tampa Prep, though, as they've only averaged .240. Will they be able to contain Seffner Christian's hitters?
Everything went Seffner Christian's way against Tampa Prep in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Seffner Christian made off with a 9-1 victory.
